North India Darjeeling Balasun Garden
2nd Flush
Presentation
The tea garden was founded in 1871 and is named after the river that borders the tea plantation in a valley. At altitudes up to approximately 1400m above the sea level, pure Chinese plants are grown, as well as crosses of different tea plants, called hybrids. Besides the highest grades of tea, fruits and spices such as oranges, ginger and cardamom are also grown on this plantation for the regional market.
Summer temperatures of up to 30˚C are one of the reasons for the maturation of this quality which is now offered to us into a premium second harvest tea.Tasting
Very pleasant Darjeeling, which if well prepared, releases no bitterness. (Even if bitterness is a flavor, which we have the right to appreciate or not).
Small, beautifully crafted leaves with silver and gold tips, crowned by a floral bouquet and a hint of nutmeg present, a most savory sweet flavor.
