Malawi Black tea Thyolo Moto Smoked Guava OP1
Presentation: This Thyolo Moto from Malawi proves that it is not just China that can produce good smoked teas. But we can assure you: anyone who thinks this is a copy of a Lapsang Souchong is wrong. For the Thyolo Moto, only partially oxidized black tea was used as the base, and is then smoked over guava wood, which comes directly from the surroundings of the tea plantations.
Tasting: A much nicer and milder smoky flavor than you might be used to from other smoked teas, which also leaves room for the slightly sweet and spicy note of the tea base. For good reason, the Thyolo Moto became bronze this year at AVPA Paris!
2-4 minutes of infusion
90 ° - 95 ° C
1 rounded teaspoon / 20 to 30cl
4-5 heaped teaspoons / 1 liter

Presentation: This Thyolo Moto Guava from Malawi proves that it is not only China that can produce good smoked teas. But we can assure you: anyone who thinks this is a copy of a Lapsang Souchong is wrong. For this rare tea, is used as a base, a only partially oxidized black tea, it is then smoked over wood and guava leaves, which comes directly from the vicinity of the tea plantations.
Note: This tea won bronze this year at AVPA Paris!
Tasting
1st infusion 75° - 4 minutes - 1 heaped teaspoon.
Large and beautiful leaves, offer a much nicer and smoother smoke flavor than what you are looking for accustomed to other smoked teas. The dress is very pretty orange-amber. The nose is fine and delicate, because the smoking is not intrusive at all, more present on the nose than in the mouth.
In mouth, the liquor is truly fruity, like a beautiful ripe and heady guava, present in the bottom and end of the mouth, nice and long way
The first infusion reveals a fine, sweet, fruity, slightly woody tea and smoked.
2nd infusion - hotter water 80° - 5 minutes:
The color is much darker, the attack of the "smoking" returns gently, coats the fruity notes and rebalances the tea on a texture which has thickened and which gives roundness to the tea.
Conclusion : A delicious, comforting, discreetly smoked tea. Remarkable and surprising.
